Athlete Spotlight: The Title Nine Trifecta
Name? Carrie (Crossfit Oakland)
What encouraged you to compete in Femme Fit? I did Femme Fit in February and I surprisingly enjoyed it. After playing a team sport for 14+ years, Crossfit has encouraged me to compete on an individual level and it is extremely rewarding, so I HAD to sign up again!
What is your athletic background? I spent 14 years playing softball, finishing at the Division 1 level playing for CAL, Go Bears!! .. Femme Fit in February was my most recent competition.
What motivates you to win? I hate losing. I've always been an extremely competitive person, when I am competing (either in a game or on an individual level) a certain spark inside just turns on. Winning is one of the BEST feelings in the world. It proves that hard work does pay off.
Shout Outs? Of course! To my fellow co-workers at Title Nine, thanks for the extremely fun work environment. I could not work for a better company! Crossfit Oakland! Thank you coaches for the endless encouragement. I'm so proud to be a CFOer
Name? Theresa (Crossfit Oakland)
What encouraged you to compete in Femme Fit? My gals: Ann, Carrie, Sierra, Connie!
How will you prepare for your most challenging event? I'm going to stay focused on just getting through it! The deadlift has always been a sticking point for me and I plan to just chip away.
What motivates you to win? The CFO men without shirts!
What are your top 3 goals? Have Fun, Push myself past my comfort level ,Gain no neck status.
Name? Ann (Crossfit Oakland)
What are your expectations for yourself as a Femme Fit athlete? Show up. Have a blast. Challenge myself physically and emotionally. Cheer and support everyone there. Collapse. Shower. Have a beer. WINNER.
What motivates you to win? It's not about winning. It's about doing something that I never thought I was physically capable of doing. I'm stronger than I thought I was, and that's pretty cool.
What is your athletic background? Really only started treating my body with any respect once I hit 40. I'll be 43 this year, and have one year of Crossfit under my belt. I'm a newbie.
What are your top 3 goals? Booty Power (bounce a quarter off my butt), Set a goal. Crush it. Remember to have fun. For god's sake it's supposed to be fun.
Shout Outs? The folks at Crossfit Oakland are simply the best. Ever.
